WELCOME TO THE PRACTICE OF

ELIZABETH A MCMORRAN, NP

Office Manager - Coleen

Coleen joined the office in January 2016.  She brings a wealth of experience in office policies and computer technology.

under the direction of Philadelphia Child Guidance Clinic trained staff.  She was employed as a family therapist in a variety of settings including inpatient state hospitals and outpatient clinics working with developmentally delayed children and adolescents in Missouri.

"Liz the NP" and family moved back to New York state in 1986.  Although she slowed down enough to raise a family, she continued to work part-time as a family therapist in community mental health settings and as a psychiatric nurse in in-patient settings.  During this time in her career, Elizabeth witnessed the shortage of skillfully trained psychiatric providers who could provide care and treatment to children with emotional or mental disorders.  Moved by this experience, Elizabeth returned to school and obtained a Nurse Practitioner degree with a specialization in child and adolescent psychiatry from the University of Rochester in upstate New York. She was commencement speaker for the graduating class of Nurse Practitioners.

Since obtaining the NP degree, Elizabeth has worked as a psychiatric nurse practitioner in a variety of settings including a PTSD program with the Department of Veterans Affairs in Western New York, a private child psychiatry practice in New York and was a psychiatric consultant to the New York State School for the Blind. She is Board Certified through the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) in Family Psychiatry.  Her greatest passion has always been working with children and adolescents with emotional and behavioral difficulties. She spends most of her days in her own child and adolescent practice in Gilbert but also works part-time treating children and adolescents in a state funded clinic.

"Liz, the NP" (as most of her patients call her) has been providing psychiatric care to patients in the East Valley since 2006. She brings with her over 30 years experience in pediatric mental health. Originally from upstate New York, she has been a Registered Nurse since the late 1970's. She began her career in pediatric nursing and was employed as a hospital pediatric nurse as well as at private pediatric offices. Within a few years, she had transitioned to pediatric mental health by working as an in-patient nurse at one of the state psychiatric hospitals. During this time, Elizabeth returned to school and obtained a Master's Degree in Psychology in 1983. She obtained additional training in the field of structural family therapy
